Spring is my very favorite season of all. Where I live in zone 10A (that’s a gardener for ya!), most of my flowers are in bloom. I’ve got zinnias I sowed the first of March already in a vase. The roses are rosing and the snapdragons are snapping! Gardenias are scenting the backyard bed and the gladiolas are on the verge of a petal peep show.
My moon garden bed of pentas, angel wing begonias, camellias, caladiums and gardenias are charmingly aglow in the dusky evenings. Their varying whites, ivories and creams in high contrast to their foliage in all manner of greens.
If you are local to me (Pinellas County) and would like to gather for cottage garden inspiration & watercolor painting, here is your invitation. The class is a collaboration with Le Marché Home in Palm Harbor, FL. (Follow the link for the address.)
My own cottage garden was my inspiration in creating the class.
If you would like to learn some basics of watercolor painting, practice brush strokes to paint leaves and flowers and leave with a piece of your own ready to frame art, join us on May 22.
In addition, LE MARCHÉ will be open for shopping as well. On my first visit to this charming place, I purchased hand soap for gardeners and beeswax hand salve. Talk about serendipity. It certainly seems as though it was a hint of what was to come—an art collaboration with a garden theme!
Lindsay, owner of LE MARCHÉ, is providing a truly lovely venue and I am your watercolor instructor and gentle guide into calm creativity. The statement I hear the most in my classes is, “This is so relaxing.” I am a former classroom art teacher and also have a decade of experience in teaching adults the art of watercolor painting.
If you’re nearby, I hope you consider being inspired by the cottage garden with me! Space is limited, so don’t delay reserving your seat.
NOTE: Register by Sunday, May 18 by using the qr code above or this link. There are no refunds but you may transfer your registration to another person, should you be unable to attend after reserving your spot. In addition, should the class be cancelled, you will receive a refund.
Creatively Yours,
Melanie
P.S. Look for a another email from me this weekend. I’ve got something new to show & tell you. I’ll explain more later.
