My Sketchbook
A sketchbook practice is something I’ve had for years but only recently have I truly enjoyed the process of “playing around” on the pages. Here is a glimpse into one of my sketchbooks and a link to the type I’ve been using lately. These come in a two pack and the paper quality is nice for a sketchbook. Here are the details: Cold Press/Acid Free/Natural Linen-Bound/Watercolor and Mixed Media/76 pages/110 lb. I’ve used the 5.5” x 8.5” as well as the 9” x 12”. Next, I think I’ll try out the square format - 8.5” x 8.5”. My sketchbook practice differs from my nature journals in that I paint whatever I’m in the mood for—usually flowers and birds. That’s where I started with art and I can’t imagine ever tiring of those subjects.
